FAQ – Frequently asked questions about the hotel
Is the hotel quiet?
Our hotel is situated on the outskirts of Lahr, surrounded by lush meadows and fields. From Luhnhof, the wooded area 100 metres from the hotel, you can access the hiking and cycling trails towards the Moselle and on to the Hunsrück.
Does the hotel have an e-charging station?
We offer a public 22 kW charging station for your electric car. Billing is handled by CoCharge.

Please bring your own table tennis bats.
Unfortunately, we can only lend out table tennis bats for a usage fee of € 2 and a deposit of € 8.
Is a late arrival possible?
Eine Anreise ist regulär bis 21 Uhr möglich. Oftmals sind wir durch den Restaurantbetrieb auch länger für einen Check-in vor Ort. Nach Absprache können wir Ihnen per WhatsApp einen Code für unseren Schlüsselsafe zusenden, der die Schlüsselkarten für Sie bereit hält. So können Sie jederzeit kontaktlos anreisen.
Check-in on rest day (Wednesdays)
Wednesdays are rest days after breakfast. < /br>The reception, restaurant and sauna will be closed on this day. You can check in using our key safe. You will receive the code before your arrival by email, WhatsApp or text message. You can enter your personal details before your arrival using our online check-in from home.
At what time can I have breakfast?
Our breakfast buffet is served daily from 8:00 to 10:30 a.m., allowing you to start your day in a relaxed manner.
Can I have breakfast at the hotel when I am not a hotel guest?
Don’t feel like preparing breakfast for yourself and your family? Sit down in our restaurant and enjoy an extensive breakfast! Please book in advance by 8 pm the evening before.
We charge € 23 per person for our rich and healthy breakfast buffet with over 90 different products.
Children between 6 and 11 years pay € 16, between 2 and 5 years € 10. Children under 2 years are free.
How far away is the Moselle river?
Lahr is on a hill on the front side of the Hunsrück. It is just a 10 minute drive from the Mosel and 25 minutes from the famous town of Cochem.
How far is it to the river Rhine?
You can reach both Boppard and Sankt Goar (Loreley) in 35-45 minutes by car via the Hunsrück-Höhenstraße B327.
Do i have internet access?
All hotel rooms and apartments and the dining areas offer Internet access via WiFi.
Are there smoking and non-smoking rooms in the hotel?
Our hotel is a non-smoking hotel by our own conviction!
In rooms with a balcony or terrace, an ashtray is available for use on the balcony/terrace.
What payment methods are accepted?
We love cash payment! Als Kartenzahlung akzeptieren wir gerne Girocard, Maestro und V-Pay.
Visa und Mastercard sind möglich, aber für uns mit hohen Gebühren verbunden!Zahlungen mit Kreditkarte unterstützen die Banken, aber nicht Leistungserbringer, der dafür hart arbeitet!
Is there a cancellation fee?
You will receive the cancellation policy with your booking confirmation. The cancellation conditions vary depending on the rate booked.
A free cancellation on the day of arrival until 6 pm is generally NOT possible!
Generally, we recommend that you get a travel insurance.
When can I check in, when do I check out?
Early arrival and later departure are only possible by prior arrangement. We charge € 25for early check-in. For a late check-out until 12 noon we charge € 20. Arrival is possible until 21:00. If you arrive later, please let us know and provide us with a mobile phone number. Per WhatsApp oder SMS senden wir Ihnen den Code für unseren Schlüsseltresor zu. So you can check in independently and contactlessly whenever you like.
Does the hotel/apartments have bedding suitable for allergy sufferers, extra pillows or head wedges?
Is there a possibility for an extra bed in my room / apartment?
An extra bed is possible in almost all Comfort double rooms and the apartments.
You will receive information on this when you make your reservation.
Are baby beds available ?
Are dogs allowed in the hotel / apartment?
Dogs are only welcome with us by direct booking.
We do not accept dogs via booking portals!
A maximum of one dog per hotel room/apartment is permitted by prior arrangement.
You may bring your dog with you on condition that your dog is not left alone in the hotel room/apartment.
We charge € 15 per night (without food).
For breakfast with your dog, please use the entrance of our fireplace room. Your dog is not allowed direct access to the main restaurant during breakfast time due to the buffet in the entrance area. During the restaurant opening hours, your dog is allowed to accompany you to the restaurant.
Due to our experiences, we feel compelled to point out that we do not tolerate dogs on sofas and beds. Please bring your own dog blanket. If the bed and sofa become soiled due to dog hair, we charge a flat rate for the additional cleaning effort of € 150
When booking, please let us know if you would like to bring a dog for a fee.
Are the rooms / apartments accessible for the handicapped ?
In the main building we offer 2 wheelchair-accessible Comfort double rooms.
Reception and catering are accessible via a ramp. There is a toilet on the ground floor that can be used with a wheelchair but has no grab rails!
Does the hotel have an elevator?
What is the screen size of the TV’s ?
Our hotel rooms are equipped with 26″ or 32″ flat screen televisions.
All flats have 32″ flat screen televisions.
Is there a car park?
Is there a way to park my bike / bicycle safe at night?
Our recycling room is available for bicycles. There are also sockets for charging the bike batteries.
Is there enough room to park my car with (motorcycle)trailer?
How are the bathrooms equipped?
Can I borrow a bathrobe?
What are the opening times of the sauna?
We charge € 5 per person.
The sauna is closed on Wednesdays as this is our day off.
Would you like exclusive use of the sauna? We charge an extra € 30 for 3½ hours.
Sauna and shower towels are provided for guests staying at the hotel. We will be happy to provide you with a bathrobe for a usage fee of € 8, which can be used for the entire duration of your stay. Refreshments will also be available for you.
Can I use the sauna when I am not staying at the hotel?
From Thursday to Tuesday, the sauna is available between 3 pm and 10 pm, and on Sundays until 9 pm, subject to prior booking. Give us a call.
For 2 or more people, per person € 22 (including water/juice or tea, excluding sauna and shower towels)
Single use € 38
If you wish, you can also have exclusive use of the sauna;
Surcharge for 3½ hours’ exclusive use: € 30 (including water, juice or tea; sauna and shower towels not included)

Refreshments can be ordered at the bar in the restaurant.
Where are the nearest shops and a petrol station?
You will find both in Kastellaun and Treis-Karden. Do you prefer a larger selection, go to Kastellaun.
Do you have ponies / horses for riding?
We have no horses. Nearby there are several riding stables.
