Cycling in the Hunsrück

Enthusiasts of varied cycling routes in the hills and the quiet countryside come cycling in the Hunsrück

The Hunsrück is known for its ‚humpbacks‘. Deep valleys make up most of the scenery. A lot of cyclist are put off by that. However, there are beautifull alternatives! At 150 meter from the hotel you will find the Hunsrueck-Mosel cyclist route.

For a fast descent you can follow Lieg/Lütz, at the end of this route you will be at the Mosel. If you don’t like all these descents and climbs, you can follow the route to Kastellaun. If you like to explore the Hunsrueck nature on more level cyclist routes, you can take the car to get to numerous startingpoints.

The alternative: Go exploring. With our two Kalkhoff Impulse Agattu 2.0 – e-bikes the peaks and valleys of the Hunsrück are child’s play. The battery provides over 100 km support. So you are perfectly equipped for long trips.

Bike rental

We offer a complete range of rental bicycles.

In addition to women's and men's bicycles, different sizes of children's bikes and a child seat for dad's bike are available.

Adults € 8 per day

Children under 14 years: € 6 per day

Off course, you can also cycle alongside the Mosel (to get there will take you 10 minutes by car). Please note that the cyle route is directly next to the road!

You can explore the beauty of the World Heritage Mittelrhein-valley at only 35 minutes by car.

A beautifull alternative is a cycle tour from Emmelshausen to the Rhine. For the way back, there is a small train from Boppard to Emmelshausen (Hunsrueckrailway). The Hunsrueckrailway is from Boppard to Emmelshausen thesteepest railway of the West of Germany. The elevation over 6 km (between Boppard and Buchholz) is 336 meter. The slope degree is 60,9 9 ‰ or 1:16,4.
